(PT) No teatro, está tudo à mostra, não existe nada entre o espectador e a performance, é ele o responsável por enquadrar e selecionar a informação que lhe interessa, tornando-se, assim, parte inequívoca da obra final.

O cinema e os seus mecanismos criam camadas e fazem essa pré-seleção pelo espectador. O que não entra no campo da câmara não existe no domínio da ficção criada.

Nesta casa dos pais usamos o teatro como o espaço da memória e o cinema como o espaço da ficção: três irmãos regressam a casa para um funeral e são forçados a interrogar o ordinário, o banal, o até aqui evidente. Mas talvez não interroguem, talvez o evidente não seja assim tão claro, talvez nem sequer regressem. — A Turma​

EN)  In theatre, everything is out in the open, there is nothing in between the viewer and the performance, it is the viewer who is responsible for framing and selecting the information that interests them, thus becoming an unequivocal part of the final work.

Cinema and its mechanisms create layers and make this pre-selection for the viewer. What doesn't enter the field of the camera doesn't exist in the realm of created fiction.

In Casa dos Pais we use theatre as the space of memory and cinema as the space of fiction: three brothers return home for a funeral and are forced to question the ordinary, the banal, the up until now obvious. But perhaps they don't question it, perhaps the obvious isn't so clear, perhaps they don't even return. - A Turma​
